Our Roots

Founded in 1922, the Manhattan Beach Jewish Center (MBJC) has been a cornerstone of Jewish life in Brooklyn’s Manhattan Beach neighborhood for over a century. With a strong foundation in Torah, community, and tradition, MBJC continues to thrive as a warm and welcoming Orthodox synagogue, serving a diverse and multigenerational membership.

In partnership with the beloved neighborhood Shtieble (98 West End Avenue), MBJC blends the intimacy and warmth of a small shul with the structure, resources, and reach of a long-established center of Jewish life. The result is a community that feels both deeply personal and firmly rooted — open to all and rich in tradition.
